Welcome to the CAN Schools Federation. We are two well-established, teacher-led nursery schools supporting children and families in Derby.
Over the next two years funding for two year olds is expanding.
More families will qualify.

Nursery Education Sessions – 2 year olds
You can claim a free place for your child if you receive one or more of the following:
Income Support
Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
Employment Support Allowance
National Asylum Support Service
Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit and/or Working Tax Credit if income is £16,190 or less
The child is looked after by Derby City Council
Your child has a disability and you claim PIP, DLA or have an EHCP in place

You can start claiming up to 15 hours when your child turns two. The date you can claim will depend on when your child’s birthday is.
