Ashgate is an inclusive nursery school; we aim to provide the best support possible to ensure that all children can access the curriculum as fully as possible and maximise their potential during their time with us.
We always try to find a way to engage and support children and families as best we can. Children with SEND are supported by their Key worker, members of the SEND team and where appropriate, external professionals and agencies. To offer additional support to families, Mrs Diane Smith is our Family Worker (please click here to visit her page for more information). Children at our school with SEND are integrated with their peers throughout all aspects of school life. The amount and type of support children receive within school is tailored to their individual needs.
Our indoor and outside spaces are all on one level and are fully accessible for all. The range of ares offer a variety of sensory activities, learning opportunities and the full Early Years Curriculum both inside and out.
All children in our provision have individual planning and documentation that reflects their personal interests and curiosities. Children with SEND also have a specific action plan, which uses a small step approach to support their learning. This is reviewed on a regular basis with parents.
For further information please read our SEND Information Report and our SEND Policy below.
Please contact school if there is anything you would like to discuss regarding your child's individual needs. You can contact Mrs Helen Fearn, our Head teacher or Miss Helen Watson, our Special Educational Need/Disability Co-ordinator (SENDCo) on 01332 371769
